STL & OBJ Viewer for Google Drive™, by Arkay Software, does not collect, sell or share personal data. It has no server of its own: the site is static files, and everything the viewer does happens in your browser. A file you open from your computer is never uploaded anywhere.
Google user data
When you open a file from Google Drive with STL Viewer, the app asks Google for permission with the scope drive.file, and with drive.install, which adds the app to Drive's "Open with" menu. With these, the app can read only the files you open with it. It cannot list or read anything else in your Drive, and it never changes or creates your files.
- What is accessed: the file you chose (its content, name, type and size).
- How it is used: the file is downloaded directly from Google's servers into your browser, so you can view it. The model is read and drawn in your browser, and is kept only while the page is open.
- Where it is kept: only in your browser's memory while it is open. Your settings (unit, grid, material and print settings) stay in this browser's local storage. The model and its name are not stored. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.
- Access token: Google's short-lived access token stays in your browser tab's session storage and is discarded when the tab closes or after an hour.
- Sharing: Google user data is not transferred to anyone, not used for advertising, and not read by humans.
STL Viewer's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can remove the app's access at any time in your Google Account under Third-party apps and services. To delete what the viewer remembers on your device, clear this site's data in your browser.
Network requests
- Google: sign-in (accounts.google.com) and the Drive API (googleapis.com), only to open a file you chose.
- Pro purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com) on their checkout page. The app only sends the license key you paste to Lemon Squeezy's license API to check that it is valid, with a random instance name. See lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
The app itself sets no cookies and contains no analytics or tracking scripts. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page), as any web server does, and we see the total number of visits to each page. The Get Pro button opens a short link on this site (readepub.app/buy/stl-web) that forwards straight to the Lemon Squeezy checkout; we look only at how many times it was opened, never at who opened it.
