Questions

What does EPUB Reader get access to in my Drive?

Only the files you open with it. It uses Google's narrowest Drive permission (drive.file): it cannot list, read or change anything else in your Drive.

Are my books uploaded anywhere?

No. The reader downloads the file you open from Drive straight into your browser and keeps it there (IndexedDB), with your place, highlights and notes. There is no server of ours.

Is it free?

Yes. Pro, a one-time purchase, adds unlimited read aloud, highlight export to Markdown and reading statistics.

Does it work without Google Drive?

Yes: open the reader and drop any e-book file on the page. There is also a Chrome, Edge and Firefox extension.

Which formats does it open?

EPUB 2 and 3, Kindle MOBI and AZW3 (without DRM), FB2, CBZ comics, plain text, Markdown and Word (.docx).
